1/5/06 Station Breaks Ground on Red Rock Expansion Before Opening Construction has begun on a 435-room
expansion of the Red Rock Resort, two months before the resort
opens. The hotel expansion will seamlessly continue the gentle curve of the rooms
tower. Station hopes to open the expansion by the end of 2006.
Palm Trees on the Roof Many of the new projects show palm trees on the rooftop-penthouses in their renderings. Red Rock is the first to actually do it.
Red Rock Station The $925-million Red Rock Station Resort will be located at the intersection of I-215 and W. Charleston Boulevard in Summerlin and represents Station Casinos’ entry into the northwest portion of the valley. The resort will employ more than 2,000 and include an 87,000-square foot casino The resort includes 415 hotel rooms (850 after expansion), 10 full-service restaurants, a nightclub, a 16-screen Regal Cinemas, and a childcare facility. The property will feature 40,000 square feet of meeting and convention space, a 20,000-square foot full-service spa, salon and workout facility. The resort’s pool and "backyard" area will feature private poolside cabanas, two poolside bars, and a poolside café. Some of the nation’s most prestigious firms are involved in designing Red Rock Station, including: Portland-based Architropolis, The Friedmutter Group, and SADI, all of whom also participated in the design of Green Valley Ranch Station Casino in Henderson, Nevada. Red Rock Station is scheduled to open at midnight on April 19th 2006.
