So, what would the next step be for one of the most prolific architecture, general-contractor and design firms around? Build your own resort, of course.

Marnell Corrao Associates has been responsible for the design and/or construction of dozens of resorts in Las Vegas. Included in their roster are; Wynn Las Vegas, Bellagio, Mirage, Rio Palazzo Suites, New York New York, Caesars Palace, Treasure Island, and the list goes on and on.

Marnell Architecture is currently developing their own casino-resort, the M Resort (with the help of MGM MIRAGE), which is located on approximately 90-acres at the southeast corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and St. Rose Parkway (about 8.5 miles south of Mandalay Bay). Actually, the resort is being built in the only area of Henderson that touches the south-strip. For the location, see the bottom of the South Map.

The M Resort-Spa-Casino will be a classy, $1-billion addition to Las Vegas with; a 390-room tower, 35 suites, 92,000 sq. ft. of casino area, a 60,000-sq. ft. conference room, a 23,000-sq.-ft. health spa and salon, eight restaurants, four bars, one entertainment venue, retail outlets, a 100,000-sq.-ft. pool area, a 63,000-sq.-ft. movie entertainment theatre with 14 screens, and other five-star amenities.

Marnell expects a March 2009 opening.

News 4/26/07    MGM MIRAGE announced it will invest $160 million in the M Resort. MGM MIRAGE plans to issue an eight-year subordinated convertible note to finance the investment. They have the right to convert the note into a 50%  stake in the spa and casino resort 18 months after the note's issuance if it has not been repaid.

The combination of transparent and reflective glass gives the
M Resort a unique look. Landscaping is being installed and the sign is going up in preparation for its March 2009 opening.
This is one fine looking resort.
