5/5/08     Grand Central South Partners (Craig Katchen and Merrill Group of Cos.) has proposed a 61-story, full-service, 2,500-room Convention-Resort on the 15.4-acre Sandhurst site (directly across from the Las Vegas Outlet Center, downtown), at Grand Central Parkway and Charleston.

The Clark County Planning Commission recommends approval of the project, pending the required FAA approval for air space clearance.

This is to be a non-gaming hotel with a large convention facility.

The project will include:

- 2,500 guest rooms
- 22,000 sq. ft. of restaurants and lounges
- a 17,000-sq.-ft. spa
- 11,100 sq.ft. of retail
- 260,000 sq. ft. of convention space
